Introduction

    A Unique, Temporary Berthing, Churchill Barriers, Orkney    Lossiemouth Cruising Club  sails from Lossiemouth Marina in the ex fishing port of Lossiemouth in Moray, Scotland. It is an active club with a full racing, muster and social programme held throughout the year.  Activities take place in the bay and the Moray Firth and members often venture as far afield as Orkney and the West Coast of Scotland. When not on the water or at their boats members can often be found enjoying a refreshment in the Steamboat Inn on the harbour front.  If you're keen to try sailing then come and chat or contact the secretary as crew are always in demand

14 yachts from 5 Moray Firth Yacht Clubs took part in a one day event on 26 th  August with 3 races. Conditions were difficult with a big swell and 5 knots of Northerly breeze.Willie Finnie our OOD got the racing started at Midday with the Pursuit race. Results   1 st  Tallulah, 2 nd  Respectable, 3 rd  Predator For Race 2 the wind dropped and the first beat was very challenging.It took 2 hours for all the boats to complete 2 legs. Results  1 st  Tallulah, 2 nd  Predator, 3 rd  Respectable For Race 3 the planned Olympic course had to be changed to a Windward/Leeward because of conditions and time restrictions Results  1 st  Tallulah, 2 nd  Predator, 3 rd  Respectable The two 707s Tallulah,helmed by Stuart Urquhart, and Predator,helmed by Alistair Mackie, ruled the day with both boats being sailed really well The Prizegiving followed an excellent meal at the Clifton Hotel.The event could not have happened without the sponsorship of Gael Force,Inverness, Lossiemouth Marina, Richard Urquhart and the Clifton Hotel to all of whom we give a most hearty vote of thanks. The complete results are as follows 1 st  Tallulah  -3pts, 2 nd  Predator -7pts, 3 rd  Respectable -8pts,4 th   Sunrise -12pts, 5 th  Sunway-19pts,6 th  Dignity-20pts,7 th  Sea Swallow -20pts,8 th  Crescent Moon -21pts,9 th  Genises - 28pts,10 th  Ufor -31pts,11 th  Winsome -33pts,12 th  Circe- 37pts,13 th  Blue Pegasus-41pts and 14 th  Aquamarijn-46pts.
